The newest release in the St. Louis experimental sound is getting close to being shipped out with Heavy Pauses getting ready to put forth a new self-titled vinyl offering. Veterans of the St. Louis new music scene Chris Boron, Mike Broy, Chris Smentkowski and Rick Wilson band together in this project to perform self-proclaimed “droning transportation rituals”. Only vinyl holders will be able to access the digital release, but the packaging goes above and beyond with Augmented Reality features embedded into the cover art courtesy of polish artist Katarzyna Kroczek-Wasińska.
Heavy Pauses celebrates its December 8th vinyl release at Off Broadway in a stacked live experimentation journey featuring heavy hitters such as local violinist Alex Cunningham, local double bassist Damon Smith. The lineup of the show is rounded out by New York’s Sandy Ewen on guitar experimentations and Austin’s Lisa Cameron on drums and percussion. This is sure to be a night for the books in the St. Louis free experimentation circuit, so make sure to mark your calendars for this event.
